Description
English: Canadian Coast Guard tug/supply vessel, ATLANTIC RAVEN - IMO 9187942, off Ogden Point, Victoria, BC Canada on November 19, 2021. Along with CCGS ATLANTIC EAGLE, CCGS Atlantic Raven is one of two new Emergency Offshore Tow Vessels, leased by the Canadian Coast Guard from Marine Atlantic LLC. As part of the Oceans Protection Plan, these two vessels have been stationed in BC waters to allow the Canadian Coast Guard to respond to incidents involving large ships in all sea conditions, including storm force winds and high seas experienced during first response. One recent incident was a fire on board the container ship - M/V ZIM KINGSTON in October 2021.
