Description
English: 330-PS-9367 (428-GX-USN 710371): Swedish Air Force Purchases U.S. Navy Sidewinders. Negotiations were completed yesterday, February 17, 1959, for the purchase of a “considerable number” of the U.S. Navy’s air-to-air guided missile sidewinder by the Royal Swedish Air Force. The purchase agreements were signed by Major General Torsten B. Rapp, USAF, Assistant Chief of Staff for Air Materiel, Royal Swedish Air Force (seated laft), and Admiral Arleigh A. Burke, USN, Chief of Naval Operations, (seated right). Witnessing the signing in Admiral Burke’s Pentagon office were (left to right): Rear Admiral W. J. Marshall, USN; O.L. Billingsley; Colonel Björn Lindskog, RSAF, B. Winberg; Vice Admiral R. B. Pirie, USN; Commaodore Sven O. Rosenberg, RSN, Commodore Kurt Beskon, RSN, and Colonel Sven A. Thofelt, RSAF. (10/21/2014).
