English: I was at Arizona State University today for my step-son's graduation from the WP Carey Business School. It was a proud moment for all kinds of reasons.

I deliberately do not blog or flickr family information, but let me say how proud again of T's accomplishment, the first of his siblings to earn a degree. He had done the working and community college deal (when I got the tuition waivers at Maricopa), but drifted in interest.
Following a high school, friend's lead, he got a part-time job working for a local beer distributing company, stocking supplies in stores. Can you imagine a better job for a young man than delivering beer? He worked his way up the chai quickly, eventually getting a commercial drivers license and driving the bigger trucks.
About 2 years ago, on his own, T realized that, while he was making good money, in the long run, the path he was on would not take him very far-- an don his own, recognized that he needed a college degree to get ahead in this world. So he decided to leave the high paying beer job, and planned hi finances perfectly so he could go to school full time, and he did his own application and successfully got into the business school at ASU. He managed to finish the degree w/o incurring any loans, which was a challenge given some severe tuition hikes the last 2 years.
And today it all paid off in a proud moment, and all family, with our extended nests of exes, united for the moment.

Ahhh, what a wonderful day.
