English: A chart of the harbour of Rhode Island and Narraganset Bay surveyed in pursuance of directions from the Lords of Trade to His Majesty's Surveyor General for the Northern District of North AmericaTwo sheets. Engraved. Scale: ca. 1:50 000 (bar). Cartographic Note: Variation shown 6 degrees W. Bar scale in statute miles. Contents Note: 86F and later variants show the situation of the British ships and forces at the time when d'Estaing's French fleet anchored and landed, from 29th July to 9th August 1778. Plate changes: Title added. Other features: Printed on Bates paper. Land tinted green and brown, coast outlined in blue, towns red. Soundings added in manuscript as in HNS86A.
