Brethren.It is to be hoped that at no distant day a historyof these children of God may be written that theworld may know who they were and how they li\-ed.The simple inscriptions on the marble slabs aremere texts to the historian, from which he may v.^ritean entrancingly interesting story. Among the many graves is an unmarked one beforewhich one pauses for meditation deep and long. All I crave is the pearly drop from Charitysmeek eye to dim a little my numerous follies as Ijourney to the grave. And when laid there, letsilence with my quiet dust reside, nor marble tell thepassing traveller where the wandering pilgrim sleeps.And yet, there is a sound too that I could desiremight perfume the air around my grave, and a balmI hope will flourish there. I mean the widow andorphan confessing me their friend in life—this wouldbe fame sufficient.
