d one at WestPoint. One became a judge. Of the one hundred and twelve, thirty-nine served inthe Army or Navy during the Civil War and two servedin the Christian Commission. In April, 1861, most of its Southern students left UnionCollege for their homes w^ith the probable intention ofentering the Confederate service. Efforts to obtain infor-mation about the military records of those who left theClass of 1863 have been unavailing. The Class of 1863 in Whos Who. In the -April, 1912, number of the Union Alumni Month-ly a notice of Whos Who in America for 1910-11 saysthat the Class of 1863 has the proudest record among theclasses of Union College so far as Whos Who indicates,for 28 per cent, of its members are found in Whos Who,the next classes being 1858 with 21 per cent, and 1872 with19 per cent. Class of 1863 59 Fiftieth Reunion Class of 1863 Union College. Canandaigua, N. Y., June 20, 1913.Dear Classmates of 1863, Union College:— It has been a labor of love to prepare this class historyfor our 50th reunion. Before our delightful 40th reunion, on account of myillness, the class data was gathered by classmates Eastonand Parker and was given me after the meeting to put inshape and have published. I had submitted it to them forcorrection and had a printers figures on the printing, whenI had a relapse and was obliged to give up all work fornearly a year. I had several typewritten copies which Isent later to some of the class, but it is a great source ofregret that it was not printed so that all the class couldhave read it. During the intervening ten years many ofour dear classmates have gone to their reward, includingfive of those who were at the 40th reunion. Fortieth Reunion, 1903.
