A new and complete history of the Holy Bible, from the creation of the world, to the incarnation of our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; Containing A clear and concise Account of every memorable Event, during a Period of above four thousand Years; Particularly, The Creation of the World, The Formation, and Fall of Man, The Universal Deluge, The Building of Babel, The Call of Abraham, The Travels of the Israelites, The Nature of the Mosaic Institution, and The Predictions of the Prophets, concerning the Coming, and Offices of the Messiah. Together, With an Authentic Narrative of the Lives and Transactions of the most eminent Patriarchs, Prophets, and other Servants of God, Who were distinguished by Divine Grace, and made instrumental in the Display of Divine Wisdom; such as Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Samuel, David, Solomon, Job, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jonah, &c. &c. Illustrated With such Notes as are essentially necessary to explain obscure Texts, rectify former Mis-Translations, and by reducing to the Standard of Truth, reconcile Passages which appear contrary to each other. Sincerely designed to root out Deism and Infidelity, and advance the Cause of True Religion, by enabling Christians of the lowest Degree, as well as the most learned, to understand the Authenticity and Connection of the Old and New Testament, on which their Everlasting Happiness depends.
