Surfleet, a parish in Kirton hundred,parts of Holland, Line. 4 m N. from Spald-ing, and 105 from London ; containing 142houses and 812 inhabitants. The churchis a handsome stone building ; here is oneof the largest heronries in the kingdom.It is a rectory, value 211. 17s. \ld. SuRHNGHAM,a parish in Henstead hun-dred, Norfolk, 5 miles E.S.E. of Norwich,and 110 from London ; cont. 52 houses and403 inhab. It is a vicarage, value &.\3sAd. Surrey, or surry, an inland county ofEngland, bounded on the north by Mid-dlesex, and a part of Bucks, from which itis separated by the Thames; on the westby Berks, and Hants, on the south by Sus-sex, and on the east by Kent. Its shape isoblong, being about 37 miles long, and 27broad; cont. an area of 758 square statutemiles, or 485,120 square acres ; of which80.000 are arable, 300,000 pasturage, and70,000 uncultivated.
