Woodblock illustration from a work on 'Chinese' medicine by the 18th century Japanese physician Hara Masakatsu, published in 1807 (4th year of the Bunkwa era). It shows the trajectory of the three handyinchannels and three handyangchannels, with the main acu-moxa locations marked and labelled. The three handyinchannels are the lung channel of handtaiyin, the heart channel of handshaoyinand the Heart Envelope channel of handjueyin. Starting within the thorax, they run to the hand along the anterior side of the upper limbs. The three handyangchannels are the large intestine channel of handyangming, the small intestine channel of handtaiyangand thesanjiao(Triple Burner) channel of handshaoyang.
