(1850, Dombóvár - 1919, Budapest) Életrajz Festõ, tanár. 1869-71-ben a bécsi, 1871-tõl a müncheni akadémián tanult. 1874-ben hazatért és rövid szolnoki tartózkodás után Párizsba utazott, ott Munkácsy tanítványa volt. A müncheni naturalizmus stílusában készített életképeket. 1876-tól Szolnokon és Budapesten élt. 1897-tõl a Mintarajziskola tanára. Anekdotikus naturalista zsánerképeivel: Terefere (1880), No ne izéljen! (1886) jelentõs sikert ért el. Több élet- és Mészöly irányához kapcsolódó tájképpel szerepel a Magyar Nemzeti Galériában. AGGHÁZY, Gyula (1850, Dombóvár - 1919, Budapest) Biography Painter, teacher. Between 1869-71 he attended the Vienna Academy and from 1871 onwards the Munich Academy. In 1874 he returned to Hungary and after a short stay in Szolnok, he travelled to Paris where he was a pupil of Munkácsy. He painted genre pictures in the style of the Munich naturalism. From 1876 onwards he lived in Szolnok and Budapest, and was a teacher of the School of Decorative Arts. "Chatting" (1880) and "Leave Me Alone" (1886), anecdotic genre pictures in naturalist style brought him a lot of success. Several of his genre pictures and sceneries related to Mészöly's style are in the possession of the Hungarian National Gallery. |
