Albany, N. Y., Februaiy, 1892. Dear Doctor :—A bill has just passed the Senate (whichis more than likely to pass the Assembly, unless earnestand immediate efforts are made by the members of our pro-fession to defeat the same), which, if it becomes a law, willpractically nullify until September 1, 1894, the excellentmedical law of 1890. Such an unfortunate state of affairs would be a cryingoutrage, as it would indicate a step backward in the fight formedical education and public welfare wdiicli it might takeyears to recover. The bill in question has a very innocent appearance butit is in fact an effoit, which has once before succeeded, toexempt all those from the x^rovisions of the medical law of1890, who matriculated prior to December 1, 1890.
