Fistula, like poll evil, is re-garded as of scrofulous origin. Treatment. While there are various treatments for thissomewhat troublesome and annoying disease, my observation, experience, and practice teach me that in cases where thefistula is decidedly established tlie following treatment is asgood as any. First put a seton in at the lowest possible point in order torun off all accumulated matter. Bathe outside with DimonsSpavin Cure or liniment. HORSE AILMENTS AND HOW TO DOCTOR THEM. . 3G9 Founder in all its forms is inflammation of the leaves whichdovetail into each other, and bind the sensible and insensibleportions of the foot together. It is called by some fever in thefeet. But, regardless of names, this disease is of frequent occur-rence, and, when let alone, destroys many good horses by leav-ing them ever afterwards sore and tender forward. Symptoms. The horse will scarcely move. He stands uponhis heels, with fore feet and legs stretched out as far as he canget, to throw the weight off them ; thus, to all appearance, making him hollow in the chest, which appearance has givenrise to the idea that the chest is the seat of the disease, hencethe term chest founder. The hind legs are brought as farforward as possible ; the head is held erect and high. The ani-mal is quite feverish, externally excitable, and breathes fast andlaboriously, altogether presenting a picture of great distress andsuffering. Causes. Giving cold water
