librettos for circulation are in continual demand. MISCELLANEOUS ACTIVITIES OF THE SPECIAL LIBRARIES. Visits of Classes. As in preceding years a large number of study clubs andclasses have held meetings in the West Gallery of the Fine ArtsDepartment. The total number of these meetings is 194, witha total attendance of 1,896 students. Tables have also beenreserved there for students from the Massachusetts Normal ArlSchool, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Massa-chusetts Institute of Technology and the Emerson College ofOratory. The instructors in English in the Harvard-LowellUniversity Extension Courses meet their pupils in the West Gal-lery for individual conferences, and in the provision of librarymaterial for use in these courses and in connection with the use ofthe Department by the schools and classes mentioned, the Libraryfills an indispensable part in the work of education in Boston.
