The largest change for activities other than those connected withthe war program appears in expenditures for relief and work reliefactivities. Such expenditures decreased by almost half a billiondollars during the fiscal year 1942. Only $1,133 millions were spenton relief and work relief during 1942 as against $1,632 millions in 1941.
