Description
English: U.S. Soldier Monument, Antietam National Battlefield, Sharpsburg, Maryland, Carl Conrads, sculptor, George Keller, architect. Dedicated: September 17, 1880. The American Volunteer, the colossal granite statue atop the monument, was exhibited at the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
