Summary[edit]

Description
English: This aerial photo shows the storage area containing Launch Umbilical Towers that were used during the Apollo era. In the lower left corner of the storage field is a Caterpillar excavator with a 48-inch shear demolishing LUT-1, used to launch Apollo 8, Apollo 11, Skylab manned missions and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. The shear is one used in the deconstruction of the Twin Towers in New York City after 9/11.
