Description
English: en:Asilidae (Robert fly) member, Unknow specimen, Adult, unknow gender. Shoot near Bayonne, France.
The image shows a female of a Asilinae family, Asilinae subfamily, Tolmerus genus, unidentified species. Unfortunately, not all species can be determined by photographs. Most species of this genus are difficult and it also need informations on the male genitalia. Photographs from different points of view, a dorsal and lateral view help identification the most. While frontal view, or even microscope post-mortem examination may be required for an accurate binominal identification.
