Summary[edit]

Description
English: Barrack Square in Kandahar, Afghanistan. This location today is northeast of Dand Chowk (near Mirwais Hospital) in the Shar-e Naw neighborhood of the city. The British and Indians were here for about a year in order to prevent Ayub Khan and his army from Herat from taking control of Kandahar. As soon as this was accomplished, the British and Indian forces traveled back to the city of Quetta in what is now Balochistan, Pakistan. The people of Kandahar were happy with the result.
