the image is a diagram in how to tie the beer knot. it was made in adobe illustrator using the photographs on this website and the ones found in this other one archive copy at the Wayback Machine as reference. the image was finished on the 08-feb-05 and placed as public domain.

Corrected diagram available[edit]

Note: This diagram is not internally consistent, please use File:Beer_knot_retouched.png instead. The handedness of the overhand knot in the first "frame" of this diagram (right handed) is different than the next two frames (left handed). In reality this would not change as the beer knot is being formed. The handedness of the tightened knot is unclear as illustrated.
