In addition to providing these special conductors, it isnecessary to provide special forms of amplifying equipment orrepeaters, capable of taking care of the wide range of fre-quencies to be transmitted. Various other forms of supple-mental apparatus, including special loading coils, are alsorequired. Whenever a circuit is removed from regular message serviceand transformed into a program circuit, the change involves theloss, not only of the two physical wires which make up thecircuit, but of other circuits which might otherwise be operatedsimultaneously with the regular telephone circuit on this samepair of wires.
