This one-volume Bible of the entire Vulgate as revised by Alcuin of York (d. 804) is one of three surviving illustrated copies produced in Tours at the Benedictine abbey of St Martin. It was probably made during the abbacy of either Adalhard (834-843) or Vivien (843-851)
