samme aar opført en stor fabrikbygning i jernbeton i Apoteker-smuget nr. 1—3, som tidligere var indkjøpt av Thorvald Beyer. Denne nyefabrikbygning, som opførtes under Freyvald Beyers tilsyn, motstod den storeildebrand 1916 saavidt, at den efter at være blevet repareret paany kundetåges ibruk igjen. Freyvald von Krogh Beyer er født 13. marts 1890. Efterat ha gjennemgaaethandelsgymnasiet i Bergen, opholdt han sig en kortere tid i Kristiania, hvorhan hos firmaet Halvorsen & Larsen fik sin første fagundervisning. Høsten1908 reiste han til Tyskland, hvor han i Leipzig blev anbragt som „handelslærlinghos det store firma F. G. Mylius. Her forblev han i 2 lærerike aar. Han fikhos Mylius anledning til at se papirhandelen i sin fulde utstrækning gjennem-ført efter tysk punktlighet og akkuratesse, likesom han i dette bokhandelensog boktrykkerkunstens centrum havde anledning til at følge med i alt, somhet forlagsvirksomhet. Fra Leipzig reiste han til Hannover, hvor han som 58

Denne bygning, der likesom indledet hans virke i firmaet, blevfærdig vaaren 1914. Den var ved broer over gaten og delvis sammenbygning
