Entrance to our cold storage. Note crates packed and labeled ready to move on to our customers after being pre- cooled. Note the type of crate used. The strips placed on each end of crate to give ventilation when racked in express cars or trucks or storages. OUR COLD STORAGE IS BUILT IN A SECTION OF OUR LARGE COMMON STORAGES. ALL STRAWBERRY PLANTS ARE BROUGHT DIRECT- LY FROM OUR GRADING AND COUNTING SHEDS AND PLACED IN THIS COLD STORAGE UNTIL PACK- ED AND SENT ON TO OUR CUSTOMERS.
Text Appearing After Image:
THE HUMIDITY CONTROL UNIT This is a very important accessory in any cold storage where live plants are being stored. This unit automatically maintains proper mois- ture in the air so that plants that do not even have moist packing about the roots may be kept for weeks in perfect condition. Note circu- lating fans just back of humidity control unit and then note the bluflFness of the plants in crate in foreground. OUR COLD STORAGE TE3IPERATURES ARE MAINTAINED AT 33 to 34 DEGREES F. A SECTIONAL VIEW OF OUR PACKING DEPARTMENT ^Ir. Edward Smith, one of our regular packers, proudly displays a bunch of Bountiful Ridge grown heavy rooted plants. Note plants in crates and style of crate. We ne\er pack our plants more than '.i bunched deep in a crate regardless of the size of your order. Note moss pile inside building next to packing bench. Only new spagnum moss is used in the pack- ing of Bountiful Ridge Plants. It Pays To Plant Bountiful Ridge Grown Strawberry Plants 39
