English: Thermoregulation is the ability of an organism to keep its body temperature within certain boundaries, even when the surrounding temperature is very different. A thermoconforming organism, by contrast, simply adopts the surrounding temperature as its own body temperature, thus avoiding the need for internal thermoregulation.
فارسی: تنظیم دمایی یا ترمورگولاسیون توانایی یک ارگانیسم در نگاه داشتن دمای بدن خود درون محدودههای مشخص است حتا هنگامی که دمای محیط بیرون تفاوت بسیار با دمای بدن داشته باشد. این فرایند بخشی از همایستایی است: حالتی تعادلی و پویا میان محیط درونی بدن جانور و محیط زیست بیرونی.
