gain knowledge of the needs of the body and of each individualin the home, to create interest in all details of the home and itsmanagement, to give true ideas of economy in labor, time and money,and to gain the knowledge of the proper selection and uses of thefoods and textiles, in order to use them to the best advantage in thehome. Household Arts 21-22: (A) Foods and Cookery. A beginnerscourse in cooking, including a brief study of the foods and the prin-ciples of cookery, the preparation of simple dishes, and directionsfor their combination and serving. (B) Clothing and the Home: An elementary course on clothingand the home, (a) Hand and machine problems will be given insewing. The main idea in the selection of problems will be tliefurnishings for a girls room, (b) Special stress will be placed onthe care and sanitation of the kitchen, and on the care of a girlsroom as to cleaning, bed-making, decoration and ventilation. Three single and two double periods per week for the session.

A coursein sewing, garment construction, textiles, care and repair of clothing,etc. The making of a simple set of raider-garments and a simpledress is required. (B) Home Nursing and Cookery. A brief study of the treatmentof accidents, such as burns, cuts, poisons, etc., is given. The care ofthe sick in the home, and the preparation and serving of foods forthe sick are emphasized. Three single and two double periods per week for the session. Home Economics 31-32: This course is planned to teach theeconomic phases of the home and community. The fundamentaleconomic principles are studied and applied to practical questions.The development of the course is based on the needs of the womanin the home, and is planned to cover the field of the home-makersduties.
