Der Präsident des Bundesrats, Ministerpräsident Dr. Bernhard Vogel, überreichte dem
Direktor des Bundesrats, Georg Berndt Oschatz, das vom Bundespräsidenten verliehene Verdienstkreuz I. Klasse des Verdienstordens der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
Georg Berndt Oschatz, der das Amt des Bundesratsdirektors seit Mai 1987 innehat,

war zuvor fünf Jahre lang Kultusminister in Niedersachsen.
