Here, three American veterans of this war examine the monument. They are: Pfc. John J. McGarty, Fall River, Mass.; Pfc. Joseph Long, Sloatsburg, N.Y.; and Pfc. Mawhinney, New Rochelle, N.Y. June, 1945.
