Deutsch: Das Wappen nimmt als «redende» Darstellung Bezug auf die Bärenburg und deren historische Bedeutung für Andeer, wobei der Bär auf den Namen, der Zinnenschnitt auf die Burg (Bären-Burg) anspielt. Unter den Freiherren v. Vaz und den Grafen v. Werdenberg-Sargans war die Burg Sitz des Gerichts und der Verwaltung über die Talschaft. Zur Zeit des gewalttätigen Vogtes Hans v. Rechberg wurde sie erstürmt und zerstört.
