Deutsch: In Anlehnung an die Stadtrechte, die Fürstenau durch das Diplom des Königs Karl IV. 1354 verliehen wurden, ist das Zinnentor mit Fallgatter dargestellt, wie es auch ein älteres Siegel der Gemeinde aufweist. Die Farben Silber/Schwarz gründen sich auf den bischöflichen Meierhof zu Fürstenau.
