Description |
Nederlands: Deze vlotciter bestaat uit vijf 'idiochorde' (de snaar is uit het materiaal zelf gesneden) stokciters die als een vlot zijn samengebonden. De snaren lopen over 2 kammen; door deze te verschuiven kan de toonhoogte veranderd worden. Dit muziekinstrument wordt nu voornamelijk door kinderen bespeeld. Meestal hebben dit soort instrumenten een klankkast (van kalebas), deze ontbreekt hier. Zie voor een exemplaar in de collectie inventarisnummer 3925-157.
De opname is gemaakt tijdens één van de twee verzamelexpedities die het Tropenmuseum in 1970-1971 ondernam ter voorbereiding op de grote tentoonstelling in 1971-1972, getiteld 'Samo. Een Afrikaans Savannevolk in ontwikkeling'. De expedities duurden elk drie maanden en werden uitgevoerd door de heren J.T. Broekhuijse en F.M. Cowan. |
