Nederlands: Het snoer wordt (volgens de heer Verbeek) als vruchtbaarheidssymbool gedragen door ongetrouwde meisjes. De beide gesloten snoeren worden om het hoofd gedragen en het aluminium plaatje hangt af aan de achterkant.
Het hoofdsieraad is afkomstig van de Suk op het grensgebied van Uganda en Kenya. In de literatuur worden de Suk ook wel Pokot genoemd. |
