Nederlands: De staf werd als waardigheidsstaf gebruikt door chiefs. De staf vertoont grote overeenkomsten met de waardigheidsstaven van de Bara, die ook getordeerde sierstukken en mensfiguren in de stokken uitsnijden. Een andere mogelijkheid zijn de Betsileo en Sakalava die ook gesculptureerde stokken maken.
De antropomorfe figuur op de top stelt vermoedelijk een man voor. |
