Nederlands: De Yoruba kunstenaar Joseph Agbana aan het werk in het bos bij Aran Orin. Hier wordt een boomstam ontschort. Agbana heeft in opdracht van de toenmalige conservator Afrika, de heer H.M. Leyten, een Epa masker (4390-1) voor het Tropenmuseum vervaardigd. Agbana begon op 20-12-1976 en op 25-01-1977 was het masker voltooid. De droogtijd van het hout duurde tot april tijdens welke periode het masker in het bos verbleef en absoluut niet vervoerd mocht worden. Van 1 tot 15 april werd het masker beschilderd.
De heer van Rinsum maakte een foto- en diareportage van het masker, opnamen hieruit zijn opgenomen onder de inventarisnummers: 20016842, 20016843, 20016845, 20016846 en 20039009 tot en met 20039011. |
