735 Tomato, Marion 735 Tomato, Marion '^ell^'^l^^'J^l ketable fruits per acre than Rutgers and equal to Homestead. It is resistant to grey leaf spot and fusarium wilt and moderately resistant to early blight. Fruit is large, smooth, deep ovate with red flesh, less cracking than most varieties. This is an excellent tomato for both market and home gardens. 85 days. Pkt. 35c; 14 oz. 75c; oz. $2.15; 14 lb. $5.40; lb. $15.00. 732 Tomato, Manapal S'^e?" A new variety that looked unusually good at the N. C. Experimental Station at Method last sum- mer. The soil in the tomato plots is heavily in- fected with fusarium wilt and all varieties in the comparison test died by mid-season, except Manapal, Marion and Homestead. Manapal looked the best of the three varieties. It also has field immunity to gray leaf spot and 4 races of leaf mold. Most fruits range from 5.5 to 7 ounces (the size preferred by shippers), smooth at both ends and slightly larger around than from stem to blossom end, but this feature is strongly influenced by the growing conditions. The fruits are firm ripening, thick-walled and fleshy rather than seedy. 90 days. Pkt. 35c; 14 oz. 75c; oz. $2.15; 14 lb. $5.40; lb. $15.00, postpaid.
