Hardy as g-rass and will grow in sun or shade. New Hybrid Wichuraiana Roses or the Double Memorial Roses. NEW EVERQREBN ROSES. The most remarkable achievement and improvement ol a new and distinct type or Hardy Itoses that has been made lor a j,'en- erutiou. The growih is remarkable for its freedom, a single plant, lour yi'ar.s old, cov- ering a space of sqirare feet, witli long shoots, twelve to tweuty-hve feet in length, completely covering the ground with its bright glossy foliage and showy, fragrant tlowers. The foliage of all is leathery in texture, shiny, anu not only proof against insects, but evei-green; that is, keeping the foliage all winter; a characteristic in roses never before ol)tained. The flowers are produced most profusely, are all of large size, very fragrant, and can be easily used for cut-llower purposes, es- pecially when in bud. The use of these roses will be unlimited; for covering graveSj to cover roots, stumps and stems of trees, walls and trellises, and also for forcing as pot plants during spring, especially for lOaster. JERSEY BEAUTi' (Wichuraiana X Perle des Jardins). Extremely vigorous grower, foliage shiny, thick, of leathery substance. Flowers singly or\in clusters of two to four, large, single, three inches in diame- ter, opening pale yellow, with clusters of bright .yellow stamens, which gives it a most striking appearance, fragrant, and produced in greatest profusion, covering the plant entirely, and having the appear- ance of a Yellow Cherokee Rose. Most striking variety of the set. Each, 15 cts. EVERGREEN GEM (Wichuraiana X Mad- ame Hoste). The most wonderful grower of the set. Foliage fine rich bronze color, closely matted. Flowers produced singly on stems, yellow, buff In bud, opening to almost white, two or three inches in di- ameter, perfectly double, and of a de- lightful sweetbriar fragrance. Each, 15 cents. GARDENIA (Wichuraiana X Perle des Jar- dinsl. Strong grower with large green foliage. Flowers produced singly on stems one-half to one foot long. When in bud, hardly distinguishable from Perle. bright vellow, and when open cream color, three "to three and a half inches in diameter. incurving towards evening to perfect imi- tation of Gardenia or Cane .Tessamine as to shape and color, hence its name.
