quel sélèveune tour; à gauche, deux femmes devant une maison. Montagnes boisées àlhorizon. La tour quon aperçoit au fond laisserait supposer que la sainte repré-sentée est sainte Barbe. En tous cas, cette jeune femme, au costume éclatantet aux riches joyaux, rappelle les œuvres de Lucas de Leyde ou de Corne-lisz van Oostsanen. Voir la Salomé du Musée de La Haye, n° 1 du Cata-logue. Bois. Haut., 45 cent.; larg., 38 cent. LEYDE (Ecole de LUCAS DE) 117 — Le Calvaire. Au milieu, la Madeleine, en robe rouge, à manches jaunes, manteau violetà rayures, est assise au pied de la Croix, quelle enlace de son bras gauche.A droite, saint Jean, en robe rouge et manteau vert, soutient la Viergevêtue dun manteau et dune robe grise. A gauche, deux saintes femmes,lune, en robe jaune lautre en robe grise, portant la main à son visage, et,au loin, deux disciples. Au fond, sur une route, bordée dédifices, une troupe de cavaliers et de fantassins. Bois. Haut., 95 cent.; larg., 75 cent.

A gauche, saint Joseph, debout, derrière une balustrade; au premier plan,la Vierge assise, tenant sur ses genoux lEnfant Jésus qui puise dans unvase dor que lui présente un des rois Mages agenouillé, en costume vert,manteau gris à doublure de fourrure retenu, sur lépaule, par une chaînedor. Au milieu, un page, vu de dos, en chausses grises, pourpoint jaune,manteau bleu, agenouillé, prend une aiguière que lui remet le second roi, enrobe verte à col jaune, manteau rouge dont un page porte le pan, et coiffédun turban. Au second plan, le roi nègre, drapé dans un manteau gris, pré-sente un encensoir. A droite, lescorte. Au fond, deux personnages regardantpar une ouverture.
