Un personnage barbu, velu de haillons, savance vers la gauche, portanten bandoulière une boîte sur laquelle est inscrite, en hollandais, sa réclame :« Je détruis les rats, sans chats. » Il tient à la main une perche à laquellesont suspendus les cadavres de ses victimes et une baguette sur laquellecourt un rat. A gauche, un gros chien assis, au cou duquel sont attachésdes rats morts. Des paysans et des enfants sont réunis sur son passage et leregardent en riant. Grisaille. Signé en toutes lettres. Bois. Haut., 50 cent.; larg., 40 cent. UTRECHT %(Attribué à ADRIEN VAN) 133 — Quatre oiseaux. Sur un cours deau nagent des canards. Au bord, à droite, un héronhappant une anguille. A gauche, sur un gazon émaillé de fleurs, la Vierge, assise près dunrocher, vêtue dune ample robe blanche à manches violettes et dun manteaubleu, cueille de la main gauche un fruit, et, de la droite, soutient sur son genoulEnfant Jésus, souriant, et portant un fruit à sa bouche. A droite, lâne brou-tant et saint Joseph en robe rouge et capuchon gris, puisant de leau dans unemare où se reflète son image. Au fond, sur une route, un cavalier bardé defer, monté sur un cheval blanc, et, dans un champ, deux moissonneurs;devant un château est arrêté un second cavalier. Deux pics se dressent aumilieu de la plaine. Ce tableau, dune exquise finesse de touche et dun coloris puissant, estlœuvre dun maître de Bruges, du milieu du xve siècle. On retrouve ici desréminiscences à la fois de Gérard David, dans les plis de la robe de la Vierge,si particuliers à lartiste, et de Bouts
