COURSES OPEN TO NEW GIRLS (A) The Domestic Science Work Class—Thisclass offers an exceptional opportunity for thoroughtraining in domestic science. The girls work dailyfor twelve months in the laundry and in the boardingdepartments under the supervision of experiencedteachers, and carry on their academic studies in theevening the same as the boys who are in the WorkClass. The mental and.moral training that the yearof combined work and study gives makes it one of themost valuable years of the course. The working dayfor the girls is shorter than for the boys but a girl mayearn from $15.00 to $18.00 a month. This enables herto be entirely self-supporting during her first year inschool and to accumulate a balance towards defray-ing the expenses of the second year. (B) The Day School—Only in exceptional casesis a girl permitted to spend her first year in the DaySchool. Such cases must be considered individually. Admission to higher classes will be permitted onlyto those who have satisfactorily passed examinationsin the work already completed by the class they wishto enter. Earnings—All students in the Day School exceptthe Junior boys are given one or two days each weekin which they may work for wages. These earnings,as well as the earnings of Agricultural students and stu-dents in the Trade School, are deducted from thebills each month and the rest must be paid in cash. Students labor is paid for according to its value,and the earnings of students are held as a bond for thefulfillment of their purpose to get an education at thisschool, and can be used only for their support whileher
