| Description |
Two ciliates (probably Tetrahymena) in the final stages of vegetative division. Date: 15 Aug 2011, sample originally collected 12 Aug 2011 Location: Permanently wet drain beside National University of Singapore Enterprise Incubator, under shade of large banyan tree. Drain full of leaf litter and shed banyan roots. Water clear, not green, grey-brown floc when bottom and litter stirred. The sample has been left in a 50 mL tube for 3 days. Microscope: Bright-field with closed condenser aperture. Camera: Nikon D7000 Collector: Brandon Seah Scale: Field of view is about 240 micrometers across. |
