CHOICE AND RARE FRUITS The Fruit Garden is an indispensable part of any rural home. It is a delight, a satisfaction, a conven- ience, a profit, and a source of the most beautiful and delicious food supply any family can have. >5 BLACKBERRY "MACATAWA The Macatawa is a continual fruiter; spring, summer and fall. It is sweet, even in a green state; in fact, it's the sweetest Blackberry grown, and the only true Everbearing Blackberry grown, to our knowledge. Its fruit is very large, uniform in size, jet black, oblong, with no core, and very slightly seeded; very solid and a good keeper. It is a grand canning berry and fine for dessert, jams and jellies, juice and wine. It is an upright, self-branching grower and needs no support. Half of its year's growth should be pruned back, and all the dead fruiting wood removed. The first year from plant- ing it makes a growth of two to four feet. It blooms and bears both green and ripe fruit all at the same time. The bloom is very large and pure white. Plant five feet apart in rows eight feet apart. Does well in any soil, but prefers one of a heavy, moist nature. We consider this to be one of the greatest small fruit novelties. Strong plants, 40c each; 3 for $1.00; 10 for $3.00 BURBANK'S NEW THORNLESS BLACKBERRY Realizing the great advantages that would accrue if aft absolutely thornless Blackberry were produced, Luther Burbank has for years devoted a considerable amount of time to the production of such a berry. Mr. Burbank now offers a Blackberry, which in addition to being en- tirely thornless, is a very unusual producer. The ber- ries are borne in great profusion in immense clusters, are jet black and rounded in shape, about the size of the large common Blackberry. It is the latest to ripen or all berries, coming after all others are gone, the fruit being of good quality, Arm and quite uniform in size. It is also a long keeper and a good shi^^r. The vines are exceedingly thrifty growers, reaching eighteen to twenty feet in length in one season. Well adapted to over-moist or wet grounds. Vigorous plants, 60c each; 5 for $2.50; 12 for $5.00 NEW EARLY BLACKBERRY - AMBROSIA The earliest Blackberry in cultivation, ripening with the early Raspberries; earlier than any Dewberry and ten days earlier than the Early Harvest Blackberry. For productiveness it has few equals; single plants have yielded five quarts of fine well-matured berries. The berries are very compact in structure, firm and uniform in size, with a brilliant jet black color, which it retains under all conditions; the berries are borne in long, large clusters, and ripen well together. They have a . rich luscious flavor, sweet, melting and pleasing to the taste; have no hard core and keep well after picking.. Canes thrifty, sturdy, upright, needs no support. The canes are very hardy, having endured a temperature of 32 degrees below zero unharmed. It is entirely immune to Orangerust, Double Blossom, and all other diseases of the Blackberry. Ambrosia is a money maker that cannot be surpassed. Above is description of the introducer. 3 plants for 50c; 12 fop $1.75 THE*AUSTIN DEWBERRY A running Blackberry which trails over the ground or on low supports and produces masses of large, lus- cious fruits as black as jet and almost as sweet as honey. This is the finest Dewberry grown. 3 for 40c; 12 for $1.50; 100 for $8.00 BLACKBERRY ICEBERG One of Luther Burbank's creations. It bears loads of delicious snowy berries, which are not only white, but so transparent that the seeds, which are unusually small, may be seen in the ripe berries. Clusters large, berries large, early, sweet, tender and melting. No garden complete without this grand White Blackberry. It is a most deliciously sweet and prolific sort, and succeeds anywhere. 30c each; 4 for $1.00
