PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. Metropolitan Cathedral is the main house of worship for Chile’s Catholic Church and the base for the country’s Archdiocese. It is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary into Heaven. When Spanish conquistador Pedro de Valdivia founded Santiago, he established a house of worship here which led to a small cathedral being built around 1600, after many earthquakes this church was consecrated in 1775. |
