Description

PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

This singular stone (center) according to legend, was brought to the island by Hotu Matu’a, the founding king of the Rapanui people, in his boat from Hiva, his native land. It is said that this rock, spherical and smooth, concentrates a magnetic and supernatural energy called mana.

Because of its high iron content, this stone warms up more than others and causes a compass to behave strangely.

I wonder if the other rocks are the cardinal points of the compass!
