Description
English: First lines of a Latin translation of Chapter V of Book X of Eusebius of Caesarea's Ecclesiastical History by John Christopherson, version printed in Cologne in 1570 by Arnold Birckmann. Christopherson erroneously translates the term "διάταξις" from the original Greek by the Latin "edictum". Cesare Baronio uses this Latin version and bases his historical commentary entirely on it, without returning to the Greek original, spreading the error and a usage that becomes a historiographical norm up to the present day.
