Coast and inland routes: Los Angeles to San Diego, 1917
Strip map of automobile routes between Los Angeles and San Diego. Bounded by Pasadena (top), Mexico (bottom), Pacific Ocean (left), San Bernardino (right). Due north is about 30 degrees right of vertical. Principal features: municipalities, roads, railroads, road names, mileages, natural features. Other prominent locations: Pomona, Riverside, Ontario, Santa Ana, Elsinore, San Juan Capistrano, Fallbrook, Oceanside, Escondido, Del Mar, La Jolla, Coronado. Inset at lower right is detail of San Diego area. Printed at the bottom is "433" and "Brown". Printed at the bottom, outside the map itself, is "80", "'Help prevent fires' -- it pays" and "923". On verso is notice to look for official hotels and garages with a list of 14 hotels and 34 garages.
