SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 230,255, dated July 20, 1880. Application filed February 5, 1880. To all whom it may concern : Be it known that I, Thomas A. Edison, acitizen of the United States, resident at MenloPark, State of New Jersey, have made cer-5 tain new and useful Improvements in Elec-tric Lamps and the Method of Manufacturingthem, of which the following is a specifica-tion. My electric lamp consists, essentially, (aso shown in prior applications of mine for pat-ents,) of an incandescing conductor of high re-sistance hermetically sealed in a glass vacuum-chamber.
