Summary[edit]

Description
English: Title: Congregation Ansher Bialystok at 7 Willet Street between Grand and Broome Streets, New York

Description: J.B. Lightman notes, “synagogue's architecture indicates converted church. Structure is of stone masonry, with iron fence surround. It is set back from the street, flanked by tenements on either side. Architecture appears old English with simple early Gothic windows. On right (not seen) 50 feet from street is a newly built addition 15 feet wide. Sign to left advertises Hanukah festival on December 17 featuring Cantor Joseph Mirsky. Another sign indicates drosches (lectures in Jewish studies) are delivered every Thursday.”
