English: Oblong, with curves and counter curves around perimeter, featuring raised decoration of a 3/4 view of courting couple, she in hat and long dress with full sleeves and small hat, holding bicycle handle bars, he stands at left, behind her, leaning on bicycle, with cap in hand, suit, vest and tie, trees in background, elaborate surround of alternating c-scrolls, small flowers in bottom corners, lid features 2 birds on branch, with c-scroll surround, reverse unadorned except for c-scrolls. Lid hinged on side. Striker in recess on bottom. |
