Object history | Das Wappen entspricht dem Bolander Gerichtssiegel, das bis 1701 zurückverfolgt werden kann. Das Rad ist dem Wappen des namengebenden, am Donnersberg reich begüterten Ministerialengeschlechts von Bolanden entnommen, die Buchstaben stellen wohl ein Gemarkungszeichen dar. Die Farbgebung wurde durch den Reichsherold festgelegt, sein Antrag auf Fortlassen der Buchstaben mit den Rautensteinen bei der königlichen Genehmigung abgelehnt. Das Wappen wurde am 30.01.1844 vom König Ludwig I. von Bayern genehmigt. | ||||
