Deutsch: Die Sonne sybolisiert die besondere Lage am Rhein. Die Glocke steht für das im 15. Jahrhundert erbaute Karthäuserkloster auf der zu Flüren gehörenden Grav-Insel im Rhein, dass aber bereits 1590 wieder abgerissen wurde. Die Farben Rot und Gold stehen für die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Kleve.
English: The fess wavy and the sun symbolises the particular the location near by the Rhine river; the bell symbolises the Carthusians monestery on Grav Island, teared down in 1590. The colours are the colours of the Duchy of Cleves. |
