Object history
Deutsch: Neckargerach kam 1330 an die Pfalz, gehörte im 15. Jahrhundert zu Pfalz-Mosbach und bis 1802 zum kurpfälzischen Oberamt Mosbach. Schon das im Jahre 1766 gestochene Gerichtssiegel zeigte als Wappenbild Neckargerachs einen schräg nach oben schwimmenden Fisch. Damit werden sicher die Lage der Gemeinde am Neckar und die Neckarfischerei symbolisiert. Im Jahre 1907 wurden auf Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs die Wappenfarben festgelegt, die auf die silbernblauen Rauten im Wappen der Kurpfalz anspielen. Das Wappen kann auch auf die geographische Lage und Geschichte des am 31. Dezember 1972 eingemeindeten Guttenbach bezogen werden, welche dieser am linken Neckarufer gelegene Ort bisher in seinen Siegeln (seit dem frühen 18. Jahrhundert) und im Wappen mit Wellenbalken und pfälzischen Rauten zum Ausdruck brachte.
